Microsoft Creators Update: What you need to know about the upgrade

The long-awaited Windows 10 Redstone 2 update, or Creators Update, will introduce a huge range of changes, some of which Microsoft has already confirmed and others that it is still experimenting with.

One of the changes in the Creators Update is the new stylistic patterns that will be available for the Windows Store and offer greater support for themes.

At the same time, Microsoft is considering the possibility of selling themes in the Store, either made by itself or by third parties to whom it has granted a license, for a symbolic fee.Microsoft Creators Update

This is essentially what a recently published screenshot shows us, which of course does not confirm the rumors as the company has not made an official statement and its idea is in a testing stage.

Until now, Microsoft offered a repository of themes that were transferred in MSStyle file format but did not bring any particular changes.

Essentially, they simply changed the color of the taskbar or the sound or the shape of the cursor. However, if the themes are released to the market, they will bring more advanced functionality including changes to the operating system such as Action Center and File Explorer.

Additionally, Microsoft's file manager could be used globally, expanding theme support to the app, although it's likely the company will introduce light and dark visual styles first.

All we can be sure of is that Microsoft is currently testing and refining these new features. It's likely that these changes will officially go live in a few months, even before the company releases the Creators Update.  microsoft2
