Microsoft has just announced an upgraded version of the Surface Book (Surface Book i7) that features more powerful hardware and longer battery life.
The Surface Book i7 was introduced by Panos Panay who said that its battery will have 16 hours of life.
"There's no other product that has this battery life, this performance, this display. It's truly the ultimate laptop," Panay explained.
“We’ve redesigned the entire thermal system from the inside out,” Panay explained, adding that this new laptop is 3 times more powerful than the MacBook.
What's really important to note is that the device is not the Surface Book 2, but an upgraded version of the first generation. It only comes with new hardware, but visually, it remains entirely the same.
Previous rumors suggested that the Surface Book 2 might not have the hinged display-lid, but the upgraded model still features it.
The next-generation Surface Book is expected to be released in the spring of next year, and more details will have been revealed by then.
The device is available for pre-order starting today. Sales will begin in November, with prices starting at $2,399.
