Facebook recently announced to its users that they will be able to use Reactions in VR videos and photos.
Since buying virtual reality company Oculus, which makes the Oculus Rift, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has made it very clear that the acquisition was not just an experiment, but an investment in the company's future.
On Wednesday, Facebook doubled down on that promise by beefing up one of its core features. You can now add Facebook Reactions (those animated emojis that Facebook has) to Facebook 360 videos while using its VR tools.
To be able to view or create Facebook Reactions, users will need to update their Oculus Video app and log in to their Facebook accounts. Sure, this update may seem like a small thing, but after Likes, Reactions have become the most widely used medium when it comes to users commenting or replying to a message, so ultimately this expansion of Reactions' reach in VR could be significant.
The company introduced its new 360-degree video to the Facebook community late last year, with a greater emphasis on video content, and also introduced 360-degree Photos earlier this month.
According to a company spokesperson, Gear VR users will also be able to add Reactions to 360-degree photos in virtual reality in the coming weeks.
