Microsoft: 10 critical updates for Windows in October

Microsoft released a total of 10 security updates on Patch Tuesday, at least 5 of which are rated critical. One of them is a classic update for Adobe Flash Player.

So if you're using Windows, you should prioritize installing MS16-118, which is a cumulative security update for Internet Explorer.
All versions of the browser that are still supported by Microsoft are updated with this update and it protects them from an exploit that allows attackers to gain the same rights as logged-in users.patch-tuesday microsoft

MS16-119 is a cumulative security update for Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge.

MS16-120 is a security update for Microsoft Graphics, which resolves vulnerabilities in Microsoft Windows, .NET Framework, Office, Skype for Business, Silverlight, and Microsoft Lync. Users of these software should stay away from untrusted documents, according to the company.

MS16-122 should also be given priority because it fixes flaws in Windows, according to the official documentation provided by Microsoft. This update is also rated critical.

The vulnerability could allow remote code execution if Microsoft Video Control fails to properly handle memory objects. An attacker who can exploit the vulnerability could execute arbitrary code as the logged-in user.

And finally, there's MS16-127, which is the critical security update for Adobe Flash Player available via Windows Update. For those who don't know, Flash Player comes pre-installed in Edge and Internet Explorer.

After the updates your system will need to restart.
