The search for the creator of the digital currency Bitcoin has come to an end as Australian Craig Wright revealed that he developed Bitcoin, even providing evidence to the BBC, the Economist and GQ.
The verification of Mr. Craig Wright's claims was made by certain specific parts of bitcoin (bitcoin blocks) that are known to have been originally mined by Nakamoto.
"It's the batch that was used to send 10 bitcoins to Hal Finney (a techie who also played a major role in bitcoin's success) in January (2009) in the first bitcoin transaction," Craig Wright told the media.
But why this revelation now?
Wright had been cited as the creator of Bitcoin in the past, but shortly after these claims appeared in the media, his home was raided by tax collectors and police.
The creator of the digital currency put an end to speculation today and according to the BBC stated:
“Now the lawyers are taking over how much I should pay. I wouldn’t want that to happen. I want to keep doing what I love. I don’t want money. I don’t want fame. I don’t want fame. I don’t want worship. I just want you to leave me alone.”
Of course, his lack of fame and money is admirable, although Mr. Wright reportedly owns one million bitcoins, which are worth about $450 million today.
