Apple has announced its new mobile operating system. iOS 9 adds some stability, performance, privacy fixes, and brings a much smarter personal assistant (Siri).
Apple's Craig Federighi, who gave the presentation, said that Siri can learn your habits, and adapt to your apps. It will know when you're not at work and will present you with your phone's music app on the lock screen.
Siri's personal assistant will be able to detect if you're traveling and will automatically deliver traffic information to you.
Apple also made some significant improvements to the Maps app in iOS 9. It has added public transit routes and arrival times, but in limited countries to begin with (Greece is not included).
Search has also been improved in iOS 9 (as in OS X) and will now display information from applications on the device.
The new operating system adds some useful features to the iPad. For example, with the Quicktype feature, you can press two fingers on the screen and your entire screen will become a touchpad.
Apple also added multitasking to the iPad with split-screen mode.
Most importantly, though, you can now split your screen so that two apps run simultaneously with full multi-touch control.
