The American Federal Bureau of Investigation (Federal Bureau of Investigation or FBI) is seeking cyber experts to combat online crime and has published a notice with incentives and specifications for candidates.
Anyone who wants to become a specialist agent in cyberspace should expect not only “the camaraderie and teamwork”, but also the monetary reward that will be between 59.340 dollars and 76.568 per year. Of course, the job offer applies only to US citizens.
It should be noted that there are many private companies that are willing to pay much more for talented people, and there have been many cases where government employees left their jobs either to start their own security business or to work in the private sector.
In the position that was posted on Monday, the security service reports that it is hiring computer scientists, digital criminology researchers, and talented specialists in cyberspace.
Over the past few years, the FBI has conducted numerous operations with private security firms to investigate incidents such as data theft, website hacking, cyber intrusions, denial-of-service attacks, etc.
“What we want is for the people who are going to come to us to be able to become part of a team that works differently with very complex types of investigations and use their skill in this collaborative environment,” said Robert Anderson, junior, executive assistant to the director of the Bureau Criminal, Cyber, Response, and Services Branch.
Add that a specialist cyber agent should be involved in all counter‑terrorism or counter‑espionage operations, and could be the main factor in case examinations (so as to sweeten the pill).
Candidates should be aged 23 – 37 and once recruited will have access to future training in order to improve their abilities and become better at their work.
