Sony today released the 4.65 Firmware Update for the PS3, which according to website contains the latest security updates, settings, features, and other details.
In short, it improves the performance and stability of the system during certain console operations. However, it is a constant practice of the company to “kill” in every new release the jailbreaks that have been released so far. Until new ones appear on the internet and the company moves to a new firmware version, the cat-and-mouse chase will continue.
So proceed with the upgrade according to what you have done on your console.
To upgrade you will need to connect your console to the internet or otherwise download the new 4.65 firmware from here and install it whenever you want.
