Apple: Multiple versions for future smartwatch

Apple is planning multiple versions of its future smartwatch, which is expected to incorporate up to ten sensors, while its official presentation is expected next fall.

According to a report by the Wall Street Journal, citing sources within Apple, the American company's wrist device will include up to ten alternative sensors, including those that will monitor the user's health and fitness parameters. At the same time, the future "iWatch" is also expected to be released with alternative screen sizes.

The smartwatch is said to include more sensors, to differentiate it from the company's smartphones and tablets and to be able to collect data without requiring an interface with another portable device.

Possible sensors include an accelerometer, magnetometer, gyroscope, compass, heart rate sensor, altimeter, and possibly a light sensor. The device is also expected to work closely with Apple's Health app.

It is worth noting that the respective Samsung and Google are able, among other things, to record body temperature, precise location, and have the ability to perform functions via voice commands.

Meanwhile, a New York Times report mentions Apple's "experiments" with how to charge its future smartwatch without needing to be plugged into an outlet or other power source. Solutions being considered include wireless charging, solar power , and charging through motion.

Finally, the launch of Apple's smartwatch is set for early October, with its production starting within the next two or three months by the Taiwanese company Quanta, which is an Apple partner and supplier of equipment for use in Mac computers.
