Warning! If you come across a Facebook promising a “shocking” video taken during a fatal accident at an amusement park, simply ignore it, as it is part of yet another phishing.
The fake posts are being spread on the social network by hoaxers and report that leaked footage of an accident that occurred at the Universal Studios theme park in Florida: A roller coaster derailed from its tracks and crashed to the ground, killing 16 people.
According to Hoax Slayer, the scams aim to lure unsuspecting users to a phishing website, which is identical to Facebook, in order to trick them into entering their account credentials. Users are then taken to a website that promises various prizes to those who complete a short survey.
Of course, no one wins, while scammers receive a certain amount of money for each survey completed.
