Hacktivists from a group called Russian Cyber Command (Rucyborg) managed to breach the systems of SearchInform, a Russian company specializing in providing solutions for employee monitoring and online data protection.
The hackers claim to have had access to the company's systems since 2012. They have allegedly infected all download links. The hacktivists also report that they have gained access to SearchInform's customer servers through a support system.
Interestingly, as soon as the hack was announced, the websites searchinform.com and searchinform.ru were taken down.
The hackers from the Rucyborg group report that SearchInform is a “leading Russian espionage company.”
“Tonight we will deal a devastating blow to Putin’s regime and his TOP IT market leader. The FSB company controls the infrastructure of all major Russian companies – such as VELES CAPITAL, RUSAL, GAZPROM, SUKHOI and many, many others,” the hackers said in a message published by CyberGuerilla.
Meanwhile, the hackers have leaked a total of over 3,000 files (382 Mb compressed). The leaked files include emails, databases, source code, software, and various types of documents, most of which are in Russian. A preview of the leak consisting of 31 screenshots has been uploaded to Imgur.
The hackers report and warn that their next target will be VELES CAPITAL, the company that, according to the hackers, is the main investor in Russian Crimea.
