In a previous post, we mentioned Dave Hakkens and how he believes that the way people buy electronics is inherently wasteful. As soon as a new device comes out, the old one gets thrown in the trash or sits on a shelf collecting dust. The Dutch designer wanted to change the data we know with a very simple but revolutionary idea: Lego. What do Legos have to do with electronics?
A phone whose parts will be supported on a base and can be replaced, just like our familiar Lego. Think about it for a moment. Apparently Motorola thought of it before you and it seemed like a very innovative idea. So much so that they decided to adopt it.
Motorola began planning to leverage the Phonebloks idea on its own Project Ara .
The company's immediate plans include sending out invitations to developers to start building on the new platform . It seems Project Ara sometime is moving along quite quickly, with the company saying that the MDK (Module Developer's Kit) will be ready this winter
