Symantec warns about Redpill Spyware

Symantec Security firm has discovered a new spam designed to distribute Spyware.Redpill as, a threat that can help hackers steal informationsuch , bank accountsocial credentials , media and websitedetails email messages and files. ,

The malware is distributed as an attachment . When the file is executed , the victim is presented with an error message which claims that the “ file is corrupted .”

However, the malware has already been installed and has begun collecting information.

The malware runs every time the computer starts , or new registry entries are created .

The information stolen by redpill is sent to an email account embedded within the malware 's code . Around 12,000 emails were sent to this address in March 2013 alone .

Originally , redpill was developed to collect information to help users find out if their partners or friends were cheating on them . However , its purpose has clearly changed since then .
