If you are new to the world of Linux, you may not be aware of the online Ubuntu Linux demo website. If you plan to switch to Linux, you can visit this website and become familiar with the operating system before proceeding with the change.
We've talked about the benefits of using a Linux distribution as your primary desktop operating system from time to time. In many cases, people are eager to try Linux, but are afraid that it could compromise their existing Windows .
To make Linux famous and increase its popularity, Canonical works hard. It is a well-known fact that Ubuntu is one of the most famous desktop Linux distributions.
Additionally, Canonical maintains an online demo website to showcase the desktop operating system. While experienced Linux users may find it useless, it is actually quite useful for a Linux beginner.
The GitHub page for this online demo explains more:
A site is only flat HTML pages, so running a site is as easy as opening en/index.html with a browser or running a simple server.
One could also argue that downloading a Live CD to try out the complete operating system is a better option, but again, for a Windows user, this might seem like a very tedious task.
Thus, this online demo is a good opportunity for those whose Linux has sparked their interest. Their website provides the ability to take a quick look at the operating system and learn a few things.
Even though the options in this Linux demo are limited, one can open a web browser, an email, the Ubuntu Software Center, browse files, and use the Unity Dash.
So, if your friends and family ask you, “What’s it like to use Linux?”, forward this link to them.
