
Ookla Introduces Internet Speed Test Site in HTML5
We've all checked our internet speed at least once. Some just out of curiosity, others because it really matters to them. Whether you're in the first category or the second, the most likely scenario is that you've used Ookla's popular speed test site: speedtest.net , which used Adobe Flash to run this test.
Since Adobe Flash started to be "eradicated" by all browsers and internet communities, Ookla decided to recreate its service, speedtest.net, in HTML5 – and believe us – it's far better than with Flash.
With the HTML5-based version, you won't need any plugins anymore, since they run in your browser, without any additional requirements.

As important Flash-based tools dwindle, it will be easier for users to completely erase it from their lives and computers — we only need Netflix and Hulu to say goodbye to our beloved old(!) friend Flash once and for all.
