Anonymous asks for help in fighting ISIS!

Hackers from Anonymous have said they need help from security services to continue fighting jihadists online.

In their first television interview since declaring war on ISIS, Anonymous members defended their competitive approach to the extremist group, including placing Viagra ads on ISIS websites and goats and ducks in photos of jihadists.

In recent weeks, Anonymous, led by their small task force Ghost Sec, have taken down over 100 propaganda websites from the internet as well as 25,000 social media accounts.

Ghost Sec 's core team consists of 12 people around the world. They all work in cybersecurity by day, but that's all they know about each other. They also have Arabic speakers to translate pages, and despite being accused of taking down innocent accounts, they insist they always double-check all targets before making a move.

Anonymous hacker 'Comedi' along with other members of his team including 'Ransacker' and 'TorReaper' demonstrated their skills by taking a website they had targeted offline in a specially designed DDoS attack.

These types of attacks are only in operation for a few hours or days, but the group said it has designed a special program and has special servers that keep websites down for months.

However, the hacker group says they have reached the peak of their capabilities as ISIS websites are now better protected and they are calling on security services to do more as more and more new websites appear.

Comedi says of security services that “They either ignore it or don’t know how to do it or don’t have the time or the manpower. I guess if I had to do this as a job I would do it for 8 hours and then forget about it. As for us, we only take a break when we’re working or sleeping.”

Last month, the Minister of Security praised the work of Anonymous, but many in the security services question the work done by the hacker group.

On December 11th, Anonymous will launch a “Day of Rage” in which they will deface as many ISIS-supporting websites and social media accounts as possible with images of goats.
