ISIS website hacked with Viagra and Prozac ads

Hackers affiliated with the activist group Anonymous managed to take down one of ISIS's websites on the Dark Web and replaced it with advertisements for the antidepressant drug Prozac and the erectile dysfunction pill Viagra.

The hacktivists also added a message to the website urging Islamic State extremists to calm down. The message reads as follows:

“Too much ISIS! Improve your peace of mind. Too many people are caught up in this. Please watch and enjoy this wonderful ad so we can upgrade our infrastructure to give you the ISIS-related content you all so desperately want!”

The website, which had been called Isdrat, was taken down by hackers less than a week after it appeared on the Dark Web's Tor browser.

The extremist group had said it would protect the identities of its members after many hackers threatened to hunt it down following the Paris attacks.

Anonymous immediately launched a campaign against ISIS-related websites, and hundreds of them have been taken down in recent weeks.

The extremist group Islamic State, fearing that its members would be exposed, took refuge in the Dark Web, a part of the Internet that is inaccessible through traditional search engines and social media but can be accessed through the Tor browser, which allows its users to hide their IP addresses. Isdrat was the first Dark Web site that hackers managed to infiltrate.

The UK's Security Minister on Tuesday praised all the hacktivists who have made so many efforts to combat terrorism.
