Anonymous publishes “How to Hack ISIS” guide

Anonymous releases “ How to Hack ISIS ” guide and terrorists respond with “How to stay safe” guide . Anonymous shows the public how to identify and hack ISIS members .Anonymous vs ISIS

Despite initially being the subject of ridicule, the cyber-war between Anonymous and ISIS is now escalating, with the release of a guide on how to track down and hack ISIS.

Meanwhile, the terrorist group is responding by sharing tips on how to avoid online danger.

The hacktivist group declared war on ISIS three days ago, after the terrorists carried out the notorious attacks in Paris last Friday. The hackers wasted no time, identifying and taking down 5,500 Twitter accounts, and also created a special website where people can search for or contribute to a database of known ISIS members.

Today, the team also created a public IRC channel, where they published a series of three guides on how other hackers (and not only) can help in their fight. They are the following:

  • NoobGuide: A guide that explains the basics of DDoSing, Wi-Fi deauth, password cracking , and other miscellaneous hacking terms.
  • ReporterGuide: Covers running a reporter bot with a list of Twitter account IDs to discover, report, and take down ISIS-related accounts.
  • SearcherGuide: An explanatory guide on how people can help Anonymous find more websites/pages/information about ISIS.

In response to this, ISIS did not remain silent, reacting mainly through Telegram accounts, despite rumors that it used the PS4 network to coordinate the attacks.

Hacker News staff managed to infiltrate one of the terrorists' channels and capture a snapshot of some of the countermeasures taken by ISIS members to the massive attacks by the famous ' hacktivist' .

The tips shared by ISIS members reveal the members' lack of skills in cyberspace.

The cyber-masterminds of the terrorist group advise their members to “not chat with strangers” on Twitter and Telegram, and not open links from unknown sources. They also say that members should change their VPN IPs as often as possible and avoid using their Twitter username as a Twitter handle.
