IBM-Facebook: They collaborate and analyze your personal data!

Facebook and IBM seem to be preparing a partnership to develop and improve the way personalized ads are used so that they can reach their users more effectively.

The two companies plan to merge their impressive data as well as the media they use in order to develop better advertising campaigns for interested parties, as Fortune reports.

In this way, they hope to make the best possible use of personalized ads, so that each user can receive specific recommendations, based on their needs and online behavior.

The collaboration between the two companies is expected to be very lucrative, given that both have the resources to do the ideal marketing.

In order to achieve satisfactory results, both partners will use the information they are able to gather from their customers during their interaction with them, as well as the data that Facebook can provide, such as specific comments, likes, and any negative feedback left by its members on the social platform.

You obviously understand what this means..

With a little help in data analysis from IBM, which has supercomputers, it will be easier for companies to target their future customers.

With this partnership, Facebook can now boast that it is the first company that IBM chose to include in the THINKLab project, which aims at «solving the world's most difficult problems.»

This partnership seems to be a win-win for both companies. Facebook will improve its targeted ads, which will allow advertisers to increase their profits (of course, it works the other way around), and IBM, using the data from the partnership , will have greater profits through the IBM Marketing Cloud.

This collaboration, as you understand, raises several privacy protection issues. Blake Chandlee, vice president of corporate relations at Facebook, in an announcement tells users that they have nothing to fear regarding their private information such as names or email addresses, as they will not be sent for analysis.
