With a bizarre ad that mocks competing phones and disruptions in equal measure, HTC is making its latest attempt to stand out. Yes, iOS is apparently an annoying operating system…
This pharmaceutical commercial is almost as enjoyable as the illnesses it invents. It's hard to make fun of something that's already funny. But HTC is known for its oddball ads from time to time. Some people see its "work" as humorous, others as humorless, and some find it indifferent. It's aimed at other phone and, in particular, at those suffering from depression.
The ad is about a drug called Cellami, but it's obviously ironic. It asks if you suffer from Bi-Phonal Displeasure Disorder. This is a condition that makes you unable to get any kind of pleasure from either Samsung or Apple.
The problem with Samsung is Samsung Affective Disorder. And for unhappy Apple users, they probably suffer from Irritable Operating System.
The ad shows how Cellami has helped “many people.” Let’s not get too carried away with that, though, what would a phone ad be without a suicide joke? That treat is delivered as follows: if you “experience any feelings of despair or thoughts of cellucide” after using Cellami, you should talk to your doctor. Throughout the ad, you watch a miserable young man walk around, trying to come to terms with the fact that he tried both Apple and Samsung phones, but both led to depression and possibly cellucide.
In case you still want to know more and you're not in a miserable state yet, it will take you about a minute and 25 seconds to watch the commercial and understand that if you get the HTC One M9, you'll never need to get Cellami.

HTC's YouTube ad asks you to make "real decisions for yourself." And we have complete confidence in you.
