As reported in previous days, the patch KB3038314, which is among the updates released by Microsoft on the latest Patch Tuesday, is failing to install on a large number of computers, which creates problems especially for those who are interrupting their workflow due to security issues.
While the company has not yet issued any announcement regarding the issue of this particular patch, a developer from Redmond announced on the Microsoft Community forumthat his personal computer is also experiencing the same problem and that a fix is already in development.
David Goe, who according to his Community label works for Microsoft, says that this problem may have arisen from a direct upgrade from Internet Explorer 8 to Internet Explorer 11, since most computers require a gradual upgrade from one version to the next. Note that this means that all relevant upgrades should have been made on a computer from 2009 onwards.
Although the issue with the KB3038314 patch seems to be affecting a large number of users, there is still no official announcement regarding the release date of the new patch, with Microsoft still investigating the problem and trying to identify its cause.
For those users who are unable to install the KB3038314 update, it is recommended to hide it and wait until Microsoft releases the patch. This is expected to happen very soon, since it is almost unlikely, as reported in the Community, for the company to wait for Patch Tuesday to fix this problem.
