Edward Snowden has appealed to hackers and technology experts to help would-be whistleblowers leak even more government secrets.
Speaking from Russia via a Google Hangouts video call, Snowden addresses his comments to the hackers attending the Planet Earth (HOPE) conference at the Pennsylvania Hotel in New York.
Supporting that «technology gives the ability of dissent» as «democracy», Snowden said that the only way whistleblowers can give secrets to journalists is to provide them with better tools, which will protect their communication, their identity and will not secure them so they avoid prison.
That's why Snowden said, I need the help of the hackers and programmers who have gathered in the crowded conference rooms, as well as those watching via live stream.
