With the release of iOS 7.1.1, many were hoping to see the Shift Key issue addressed. As it turns out, the new firmware includes fixes for a whole host of other bugs, some of which also affect the virtual keyboard.
The release notes released by Apple state, “This update contains improvements, bug fixes, and security updates, including: further improvements to Touch ID fingerprint recognition, fixes a bug that could affect keyboard responsiveness, [and] fixes an issue with using a Bluetooth keyboard with VoiceOver enabled.” The update also includes security updates.
However, the company did not fix the color of the Shift key, which is confusing to many users and has not been fixed.
