According to Kaspersky security researchers, several scams have been circulating online recently, which exploit the highly popular virtual currency, Bitcoin.

One of them is based on sending spam messages, referring to an alleged lottery with a prize of digital currencies.

The misleading messages state: “Your email has already been selected by our company to participate in a bitcoin lottery. You have the opportunity to win approximately 1000 bitcoins. The current value of the digital currency is 1bitcoin = 1000$$$.”

How can you win? Simply go to the link below and fill out a short survey. Hurry! The next lottery is in just an hour and 45 minutes.”

Of course, there is no lottery that gives out Bitcoins, and the link included in the messages leads to a website that directs users to install malware.

Kaspersky has detected several spam emails about Bitcoin. Below are screenshots of them.
