The first teaser and messages about the future of Pokémon GO

The announcement of Forever Forward was made via a short 15-second teaser , which managed to spark several theories in the community. The video shows a trainer approaching a Pikachu wearing a visor hat, a costumed version that previously appeared in the 2026 Spring Marathon event.

The presence of confetti, festive elements, and the 10th anniversary logo clearly shows that Niantic is planning a season with a strong anniversary character. However, the name “Forever Forward” suggests that the company wants to convey a different message: that Pokémon GO is not nearing its end, but is entering a new era of evolution.

Many players believe that Niantic is preparing significant changes to mechanics, raids, seasonal events, and possibly social features that will take even greater advantage of the game's augmented reality and location-based elements.

GO Fest 2026 finally brings Mega Mewtwo

It's worth noting, however, that Forever Forward won't include a Community Day Classic, which could signal a change in strategy around the game's recurring events. Instead, it seems like the company wants to put more emphasis on limited-time content and special missions.

From May 26th to June 15th, players will be able to participate in Team Leader missions starring Candela, Blanche, and Spark. The missions will include catches, egg hatching, and battles, while the rewards will include exclusive costume Pokémon and limited GO Passes.

Leaks and early information also indicate that Niantic is preparing new anniversary cosmetics, avatar items, and possibly special shiny Pokémon exclusively for the season.
