Twitter now asks your age before letting you follow alcohol brands

So, Twitter introduced age verification on Twitter.com, as well as on iOS and Android devices.

According to the company, alcohol companies can safely grow their network of followers in a very simple way. So, when you try to follow such a brand on Twitter, you will be asked to provide your age to complete the action.

The date of birth selection form appears on the screen. Twitter quickly checks whether you are of legal drinking age in your country, resolving a major issue that could have arisen from this system. From then on, Twitter remembers the fact that you passed the age test and will not store your date of birth.

So far, Twitter has partnered with Bud Light, Jim Beam, Knob Creek, Heineken and Bacardi, who are set to use the platform's new tool for their strategic advertising.
