Starting Tuesday, WordPress users can edit their websites using the new AI assistant built into the platform's site editor and media library.
The AI assistant is located in a sidebar in the WordPress site editor, and users can ask it to edit and translate text, create and edit images using Nano Banana , and make adjustments to their websites (such as creating new pages or changing fonts).

Users can also interact with the AI through the new block notes that WordPress added in version 6.9 in December. This feature allows users to leave comments in the site editor. By tagging the AI assistant with “@ai” in block notes, users can give it commands, such as editing a specific block of text or suggesting a title.
To try out the AI assistant, users must manually by going to their website settings and turning on “AI tools.” Websites built with the AI website builder that WordPress launched last year will have the AI tools enabled by default.
