The police in China have unveiled the new special AI robot RT-G, which is revolutionizing the field of fighting crime on the streets.
The RT-G robot is a spherical, indestructible, heavily armed device that looks like a giant bowling ball. It was built by Shenzhen-based Logon Technology Co., Ltd. and aims to put an end to crime
The robot is powered by artificial intelligence, which can help it identify suspects through facial recognitionand alert law enforcement to suspicious activity. In its arsenal, there are tear gas canisters, an extremely loud horn, and a gun that can trap a suspect with a net. Also, according to its manufacturers, the RT-G robot can withstand an impact of up to four tons.
Some videos posted on social media have gone viral and show the robot patrolling the streets in various Chinese cities.

The RT-G's unique spherical design came from an initial thought of using the robot in harsh "unknown environments" such as the Moon or Mars.

Until now, similar devices were actually intended for space exploration. In 2001, NASA experimented with the idea of using a large robotic ball, the tumbleweed rover,” to explore the surface of Mars.
However, the government in China plans to initially use the robot on the streets of various Chinese cities. The RT-G's battery lasts 10 hours and can travel at speeds of up to 21 miles per hour.
Later it can be used in more difficult and dangerous places.

"It is very dangerous to explore harsh and unknown environments, such as fire pits and underground caves," the researchers wrote. "Using mobile robots to replace humans in these exploration tasks can effectively ensure human health and safety."
However, the RT-G is not just suitable for the road and difficult dry environments. It is designed to operate in water as well.
Unlike humanoid robots that are prone to clumsy falls, the RT-G's spherical shape ensures that it will never fall and can move in any direction without being able to stop.
The introduction of the RT-G crime-fighting robot is a testament to China's determination to use the latest technology to protect society. As technology continues to advance, we can expect to see more developments in this industry.

As always, there are mixed reactions. Some critics argue that overreliance on technology could lead to a loss of human judgment . On the other hand, supporters believe that these devices can enhance police capabilities and make the streets safer.
