Dezeen has shared photos of a brand new building at Apple Park, called “The Observatory.”
“The Observatory” is built on a hillside near the Steve Jobs Theater and will be used for demonstrations product after Apple events. It will begin operating today, after the iPhone 16.

To enter the building, visitors walk through a curved path that leads to a vaulted entrance. At the top is a three-meter-wide circular opening that looks skyward. From this vestibule, a stone sliding door leads to the main event space , which opens to a large window overlooking the Apple Park campus
"When we built Apple Park, we wanted the entire campus to seamlessly integrate into the landscape , and this building follows that same approach," said John De Maio, an Apple executive.
“With its stunning views of the campus greenery and the mountains reflecting on the horizon, The Observatory is truly an extension of Apple Park that looks out over the best of California and the natural environment around us,” added De Maio.

Apple hopes that The Observatory will be a place for contemplation, in addition to a building for product.
“The Observatory was designed as a contemplative space, ideally situated for observing the natural landscape at Apple Park and the hills beyond,” De Maio explained. “We designed the building and its surroundings to be a welcoming space for visitors to share a wide range of new experiences,” he continued.
In short, The Observatory serves as a product, but it also embodies Apple’s vision of creating spaces that are both functional and inspiring. The building’s architecture incorporates natural light throughout, promoting a sense of calm that enhances the overall experience for visitors. Apple aims to provide a haven for creativity and innovation. Upon its opening, The Observatory is expected to become a landmark not only for Apple, but also for the architectural landscape of Silicon Valley, symbolizing the future of technology intertwined with the beauty of the natural world.
