“As the June 10th unveiling of Apple ’s new AI approaches , Gurman revealed in the Q&A section of the Power On newsletter that the first wave of features will be fully integrated into the device . This suggests that the company’s new big language, the software behind the innovative features, will not rely on cloud processing.”

According to Gurman, it's likely that Apple will continue to provide some cloud-based AI capabilities, powered by Google's Gemini or other providers. Apple has reportedly been looking into partnering with companies like Google, OpenAI, and Baidu to develop AI. While iOS 18 isn't expected to include Apple's ChatGPT -style chatbot , it's not yet clear whether Gemini or another chatbot will be directly integrated into iOS 18.
Apple may be planning to deliver some of its cutting-edge AI capabilities to the cloudin the near future, supported by statements from Apple supply chain analysts such as Ming-Chi Kuo and Jeff Pu, who have said that the company is actively investing in the AI server market.
Rumor has it that iOS 18 will include revolutionary AI features in apps like iPhone Spotlight, Siri, Safari, Shortcuts, Apple Music, Messages, Health, Numbers, Pages, and Keynote. Gurman has said that advanced AI will make Siri capable of handling more complex questions and enhance the Messages app with - complete suggestions.
