A new study that examined IT professionals' views on AIrevealed that feelings about artificial intelligence tools are more negative than positive.
The SolarWinds found that less than half (44%) of IT professionals have a positive view of artificial intelligence, with most calling for stricter policies on the technology.
Furthermore, a quarter of participants believe that artificial intelligence could pose a threat to society, beyond the workplace.

Despite the increasing adoption of technology in our daily lives, data from this study shows that a relatively small 28% of IT professionals are using artificial intelligence in their workplace . The same number plan to adopt such tools in the near future.
Sascha Giese of SolarWinds said: “professionals currently have a negative view of .toolsIT AI”
Another survey from Salesforce recently revealed that only one in five (21%) companies have a clearly defined AI policy. 37% had no AI policy at all.
Giese added: “Many IT organizations require an internal AI education campaign to educate on specific use cases, understand the differences between AI subsets, and channel the productivity benefits of AI into innovation.”

SolarWinds doesn't go into detail about the negative perception and threat IT professionals feel about AI, but other studies have been published that show workers fear for their jobs, as AI tools are designed to boost productivity and drive results.
Giese, on the other hand, argues that the right use of artificial intelligence can benefit employees, customers , and the broader workforce.
What might worry IT professionals about artificial intelligence?
