The Browser Company recently released “Arc Search” with AI (artificial intelligence) for iPhone, offering a new web browsing experience.

This app uses AIwithits “Browse for me” feature to generate pages of information from six websites for your search query. It provides categorized sections and quick summaries, such as for recipes or Apple. The pages include photos and videos, and there’s also a “Dive Deeper” option for further exploration.

OTHER FUNCTIONS
It was recently announced that users can select Preplexity as their default search engine in the Arc desktop client on iPhones. However, it is unclear whether this option will also be available for the mobile client.
Users who don't want to use artificial intelligence can simply tap on the query to use other search engines like Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo , or Ecosia, if they are set as the default.
In addition, there are various features that can enhance your browsing experience. With the reading mode, you can easily read all the web pages. You can also bookmark the web pages you are interested in and archive the tabs after a day to save space in the browser. However, a folder system for organizing bookmarks is missing.
WHY DID ARC CREATE THIS KIND OF BROWSER?
Josh Miller, the CEO of Browser, announced at X the creation of the new browser called “Arc Search”. The program aims to offer fast search, similar to browsers on mobile phones. It stands out with a search bar in the middle and a keyboard that allows for direct typing of queries. The novelty of the program is the ability to interact with an AI agent for searching large amounts of data, summarizing content and sophisticated presentation. Arc Search on an iPhone attempts to combine search features with AI-powered functions, such as Search Generative Experience (SGE) or Google’s Perplexity AI, offering a complete browsing environment.

WHAT'S UP?
Arc plans to keep its mobile app for saving links alive, and also plans to merge the browser clients at a later stage. In addition, it plans to introduce cross-browser synchronization. Due to increasing demand from Windows, the company is developing its own synchronization experience for Arc.
Arc was initially released with a Mac and has recently been made available for download. Additionally, the new Arc Search client provides convenience without the need to create an account, allowing users to start browsing immediately.
