CD Projekt has announced the latest news regarding sales of the Phantom Liberty expansion for Cyberpunk 2077.
After its release on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on September 26, the game sold three million copies within its first week, while its first and only expansion saw over 4.3 million sales in its first two months.
CD Projekt CEO Adam Kiciński expressed his satisfaction with the successful launch of Phantom Liberty. He noted that the expansion, combined with Update 2.0 which adds many improvements, elevates the Night City to a new level of quality.

Kiciński recently stated that Cyberpunk 2077 has sold over 25 million copies since its release in December 2020, making it “much faster” in sales than The Witcher 3 after its release. That game has sold over 50 million copies since 2015.
The overall percentage of Phantom Liberty owned by Cyberpunk 2077 players is expected to increase in the future, especially now that the release of Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition is approaching. This bundle, which combines the RPG with its unique expansion, is scheduled to be released in both physical and digital formats on December 5th. Considering that Phantom Liberty is only available for PC and current-gen consoles, the Ultimate Edition is also intended to bypass PS4 and Xbox One. These console versions contributed significantly to the technical issues during Cyberpunk 2077's initial release.

CD Projekt recently announced the Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition, which includes the base game and Phantom Liberty, and will be released digitally and physically in select markets on December 5th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC.
Last September, Gabe Amatangelo, the game director of Cyberpunk 2077, announced that the studio had no further major updates planned for the title. Their attention was focused on other projects, including the game's sequel, which is now in development at CD Projekt's North America studios.
