The Witcher 3 patch version 4.04 introduces a mix of graphical updates and quality of life improvements to both the console and PC versions of the game, as well as some specific improvements for the Nintendo Switch. In short, the latest patch improves the Switch's cross-progression feature, making it so that, after logging in to your CD Projekt Red account, you can pick up where you left off in The Witcher 3 on other platforms. The Switch also gets the Netflix- content that other consoles received in the latest patch.
In addition to numerous bug fixes, such as, “the grass collision fix,” patch 4.04 also made it less necessary to dig through menu screens during combat, allowing you to change oils and potions directly from the game’s radial menu. It’s a welcome change, since oils are vital tools for taking down specific monsters. Now Geralt can bathe his sword in whatever specific concoction will help him defeat the beasts he’s currently fighting, without having to interrupt the flow of battle by opening the pause menu and tinkering with the mage’s concoction.
Suggestion: The Witcher 3: CD Projekt Red shows off next-gen version
These gameplay quality updates come as the second half of the third season of Netflix's Witcher series - the final season with actor Henry Cavill as Geralt - is almost upon us. In his absence, Liam Hemsworth will take up the mantle of Roach's knight, making his debut as the Butcher of Blaviken in the series' fourth season.
The second part of the third season of The Witcher will premiere on the streamer on July 27th.
