A similar thing happened to another Elden Ring player recently. According to a post by user Self_Reflexive on the r/Eldenring subreddit, a hacker crashed his game after using an exploit that appears to exist. The video the player provided in question showed his world being invaded by two hackers, with one holding him captive while the other cast a spell on him that produced a flash of light and had a hypnotic effect. Unlike the previous Elden Ring hacker who transformed into millions of pieces of light to cause his victim 's frame rate to drop , the flash of light the hackers used was limited.

Although the light did not affect the victim player's frame rate, it did cause the game to crash, although the player could not tell if the game was stuck or if it was "locked out" on its own.
