T -Mobile plans to force customers with older smartphone to switch to newer, more expensive plans.

The transition will occur automatically, but customers have the option to request an exemption by contacting the support team.
Those who had the previous Magenta and One packages will be upgraded to Go5G, while those who had the Magenta 55+ will be upgraded to Go5G+. Users of the Simple Choice and Select Choice packages will be transferred to Magenta or Essentials Select.
With the transition to new plans, customers will face price increases, depending on their current plan, ranging from $5 (€4.71) to $10 (€9.42) per line. For example, Simple/Select Choice will see a price increase of $10 per line.

Customers who do not receive notification of future plan changes may request to return for a short period of time. However, service will attempt to guide customers to new plans with upfront credits.
According to The Mobile Report, customer support representatives will try to convince users of the benefits of the new plan. “We are not increasing the price of any of your plans. However, we are offering you a newer plan with more benefits at a different cost,” T-Mobile is telling employees .

Customers will receive notifications about upcoming plan changes starting October 17. Notifications will be sent via text message and email. Transition times will vary depending on billing cycle.
