Destiny 2: One player managed to defeat the final boss alone

Destiny 2 raids are generally among the most difficult PvE activities in the game, as they usually require good teamwork, synchronization, and a lot of power especially when you approach the final boss. At least this is the experience of most players, as a Guardian managed to defeat the final god, Nezarec, on his own without any help from his team.

Snazzy Rock was able to single-handedly defeat him using key Exotics like Eriana's Vow and Sunbracer Gauntlets as part of his strategy. The Exotic hand cannon was useful for landing huge critical hits on Nezarec, while the Sunbracer Gauntlets worked well with a Warlock Solar build that allowed Snazzy to control the crowd a bit between phases.

A grenade launcher with a blinding effect was the other key element of the puzzle that helped keep the enemies under control while Snazzy ran around in circles. The Root of Nightmares raid is one of the easiest raids in Destiny 2, but it's amazing that it took a month for a single player to achieve this feat.

The Destiny 2 player managed to defeat Nezarec in 11 minutes, which is likely unprecedented for a solo run on the raid boss. Another key part of Snazzy's strategy involved quickly swapping loadouts to maximize damage against Nezarec, which you can also see in the video below.

What makes this run even more remarkable is that the mechanics behind Destiny 2's gameplay for Nezarec involve activating light and dark nodes on the map, and a single misstep can wipe out the entire team. Going back and forth for the puzzle, pulling a small squad of Shadow Legion soldiers from the middle, and avoiding an angry drill giant is not easy for six players, let alone a single Guardian.

It's also important to note that this raid has a strange bug where using a Warlock Well of Radiance Super leaves Nezarec in a state where he's slow to respond with lethal force. Bungie is planning to address this issue in a future update, so this exploit won't be available for long. Some additional fixes will be coming to Destiny 2 soon, including adjustments to the damage of Quicksilver Storm and Touch of Malice.
