Just half a year after the introduction of ITVX, the broadcaster has officially decided to stop feeding services to certain devices. ITV will now require its users to have an iOS 14.
It's certainly disappointing news for those of us using older iPhones, as we'll no longer be able to enjoy shows like Nolly, Six Four and The Dry. ITV has launched the service for all Apple devices running iOS 12 or later, but you'll have to pay for it in the near future.
Cord Busters has stated that ITVX will no longer be compatible with iOS versions lower than 14 as of the end of August. The good news is that the majority of iPhone owners have updated to much more recent versions of iOS.
The new policy will exclude a small number of older iPhones that are no longer eligible for upgrades. Unfortunately, this news is disappointing for those who have an older iPad.

The following iPhone models will be affected:
- iPhone 6 Plus
- iPhone 6
- iPhone 5s
- iPhone 5c
- iPhone 5
- iPhone 4s
- iPhone 4
And the following iPad models too:
- iPad mini 3
- iPad mini 2
- iPad mini (1st generation)
- iPad Air 1
- iPod touch 6th generation
It's important to note that Apple has stopped providing updates to these devices, leaving them vulnerable. This is due to existing security vulnerabilities and those that have not yet been patched.
