The Secrets of the Map for Pale Heart, Destiny 2's Final Shape!
Yesterday we got a lot of information about The Final Shape, the upcoming Destiny 2 expansion, from a CG trailer and some hands-on/eyes-on gameplay from journalists and developers. A first look at the map for the main destination of the Destiny 2 expansion, Pale Heart.

You can see parts of it below:

- There's already a sense that this will be a small map, as there's only one spawn point, as opposed to the two in Beyond Light's Neptune and a whole host of large zones like the EDZ and Nessus. However, it's important to note that this may not be about size, but structure, given the winding tunnel-like zones we see, which don't seem particularly suited to fast travel. It also makes sense that this is a zone that Bungie wants us to explore more than others, so I don't think we can really gauge its size just yet.

- The names of several locations that are cryptically named, and I imagine they have different roles in the course of the campaign as in The Transgression, The Seclusion, The Blooming, The Refraction
- There are three Lost Sectors visible in these two parts of the map, two are located far to the left in every shot of the map and you might miss them. There may be more out of frame, but three seems to be the right number overall.
- We still don't know what those little ghost-like symbols around the map are. At the very least, they could be collectibles, since those are usually hidden, not clearly marked. The symbol also matches a very large symbol at the top of the map, indicating some kind of mission or activity.
- We also still have “golden chests” on the map, a concept that hasn’t been relevant for quite some time, but still exists in all destinations for some reason. They could have been free destination weapons.
- Within the map, Episode: Echoes: Act 1 is already active, suggesting that some of the symbols on the map may be from that content, although the crying little Vex symbol is not visible there. The first episode is supposed to be released a week after The Final Shape.

- There's something like an airport on the map for some reason, a series of overlapping planes to the northeast. Yeah, the first thing that comes to mind is the dead Cosmodrome planes, but these are in pieces and these, for whatever reason, all look completely intact. Is one kind of on its side? Anyway, it's definitely the strangest configuration I can see on the map right now.

- The Blooming looks a lot like the central zone and I'm sure it contains the Tree of Silver Wings in the middle, along with the Io “this is where the Traveler landed” section that was in the sky of the map until we reached the tree.
- Based on how the map is laid out, my guess is that we have the "beautiful" part of the map, the beautiful parts of Traveler, on the left side, and as you go further right, you get to the ugly, corrupt parts of Witness like The Transgression, and it's not clear if that's even the last zone going in that direction.
