The company has released an update that should likely fix this issue on affected Android devices.
"We are currently investigating the issue and have released a new version of the app that should address the issue," Google added.
While most users' phones will automatically install the Google app update for the giant company that was released on Sunday, those who have disabled automatic updates on device will have to install it manually from the Google Play Store.
However, since the Google Android app has over 5 billion installations worldwide, some percentage of users are still affected even with automatic updates enabled.

LG devices may be affected by the bug
While Google didn't share the Android phone models affected by this Google app bug, user reports over the weekend only mentioned LG like the LG G7, LG G7 ThinQ, LG V40 ThinQ, and LG Q70.
While some have confirmed that Google's latest update has fixed the issue that was blocking their calls, others have had to completely uninstall the app to get calling functionality back on their phones.
