If you want to send photos or videos that will automatically disappear after a certain amount of time via WhatsApp, it will soon be possible with the feature that is about to be released for Android devices.

According to WABetaInfo, the feature has been in development for a while now, with Mark Zuckerberg and WhatsApp CEO Will Cathcart stating that it arrived in the app in due course, along with multi-device and iPad.
In the last year, the use of messaging apps has increased due to remote work, while the demand for better privacy and even better features for managing multiple conversations has also increased.
With other apps like Telegram already offering these features to their users, the pressure on WhatsApp has been pretty intense. While the company is trying to downplay its horribly mishandled new privacy guidelines, it's doing everything it can to retain and attract new users to its service.

What can this feature help with?
Imagine you need to send someone an important photo that has some sensitive information. It might include payment details and you might need to transfer money to a bank. Instead of backing up and storing the photo on WhatsApp, the image might disappear once the recipient sees it and then never be able to view it again.
For security reasons, this is extremely useful and is a feature that users have wanted for a long time in WhatsApp, especially since apps like Telegram have already had it for more than a year.

With other features like iPad support and multi-device support coming soon, there's a lot to look forward to if you're an avid user of the app. While the feature is only available for Android devices, it's only a matter of time before it becomes available on the iPhone as well.
