Europe warns passenger planes flying in Iranian airspace of the risk of being accidentally targeted!
According to warnings from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), systems may detect aircraft and consider them a threat, resulting in them being turned against them.
"situation security and poor coordination between civil aviation and military operations, there is a risk of misidentification and recognition of civil aircraft," the European Aviation Safety Agency announced on Thursday.
«Because the presence of various sophisticated Iranian air defense systems makes the situation quite complex, Europe recommends caution.»
The European Union Agency, based in Cologne, Germany, also said:
«The risk for flights at levels below 25,000 feet (7,600 meters) is estimated to be extremely high.»
The warning, or conflict zone bulletin, is in effect until January 16, 2021.
The EASA recommendation comes a few days after Iran announced that it had accidentally shot down Ukraine International Airlines Flight 752 shortly after takeoff to Europe in January, killing all 176 passengers.
Then, after days of denial, Iranian authorities finally admitted that the country's air force shot down the Ukrainian with missiles, blaming it on "human error."
An air defense unit "forgot" to adjust its radar system, causing a chain of communication and human errors that quickly led to the plane's fatal crash, according to a statement from Iran's Civil Aviation Organization.
Europe had even emphasized the importance of the situation and had stated that "a new assessment will be made with the EU Commission and the European Union Member States later."
Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, ordered his armed forces to address the "gaps" so that such a tragic event does not happen again.
