MX Linux, a Linux distribution based on Debian stable, and as you may know, is one of the distributions we recommend for everyone, experienced or novice users. The distribution came from a collaboration between the antiX and MEPIS Linux communities that has stopped development.

It uses Xfce as the default desktop, and is an operating system that combines an elegant and efficient desktop with simple settings, high stability, consistent performance, and a minimal footprint.

In short, it's a fairly light distribution that doesn't sacrifice quality.

The distribution offers a feature that allows the creation of ISO snapshots.

What is this?
Adding your operating system along with all its settings to an ISO image that can be burned to a DVD, or USB drive for reinstalling that particular system!
Yes, another type of backup.

For those who haven't tried the distribution, below is a custom ISO, from the system I use.

It contains several pre-installed applications as well as different DEs (KDE, Xfce) so you don't have to worry about formatting a new installation.

Among the additional applications, I should mention the latest Google Chrome, Opera, Filezilla, Firefox (64), Pinta, Geany, Slack desktop, qBittorrent, Nvidia drivers, MX codecs and many more so that the distribution works flawlessly and with many additional applications immediately after installation.

Other key features:

The system is fully updated with the latest packages available in the distribution's repositories, and you can also use the ISO as a Live ISO.

I should mention that the official ISO is 1GB, while the custom one I uploaded to Google Drive is 3.7 GB (3,680,501,760 bytes).SecNews MX Linux 19 x64 custom ISO leave Windows

The ISO and md5 for file verification come as a .zip package.

To avoid multiple settings after installation, at the point where the installer mentions re-use home, select this setting.
