Foxit Reader 9.0 new version free for everyone

Foxit Software today released the new Foxit Reader 9.0, a major new version of its free PDF reader software for the Windows environment.

Foxit Reader is a lightweight and fast utility for reading PDF files. PDF (Portable Document Format) is one of the most widely used document formats on the Internet today. The problem is that Adobe Reader is both bulky and slow.

Foxit Reader on the other hand is very light and fast. This becomes immediately apparent once you try it out or compare the Foxit Reader installation file which is only 12MB compared to Acrobat which is huge.

The new version brings new features and improvements to security and stability.

Those of you who are already using it, you can check for new updates by clicking Help – Check for Updates. Foxit Reader 9

Those who don't use it and wish to try it out can download it from the official Foxit Software website.

The last update to Foxit Reader was in 2013 with Foxit Reader 6.0.

The new features that Foxit Reader 9.0 brings can be divided into usability and security features. Users of the application can export digital signatures, and the MSI package of Foxit Reader comes with Enterprise security features such as Windows Information Protection (WIP) and support for Microsoft's PDF V2 IRM specification.

The new application allows for many keyboard shortcuts, such as automatic zoom reset, a new find and mark command, and many others.

Some of these features (it supports about 100 shortcuts) need to be enabled. You can do this from File – Preferences – General – Use accelerators or File – Preferences – General – Use single-key accelerators

The manual lists all the functions and shortcuts you can use.
