Apple: iOS 13 promises to stop spam calls

Apple is once again taking the next step in iPhone security. This time it is working on creating filters to prevent spam. For now, there is a rudimentary check from iPhones. When a call comes in from any number, a report with the caller's details appears on the device's screen. There, the user can decide from the details whether to accept the call or not, whether to block the number completely or not.

Apple is now taking this process a step further. With iOS 13 , numbers that are not saved will essentially be silenced. In fact, it will send all those calls to voicemail.

This feature will not be mandatory, but anyone who wants to can activate it. Of course, the odds so far indicate that everyone will probably activate it, since in general everyone is annoyed by calls they receive from numbers they do not know, often at inappropriate times.

While spam calls usually come from numbers that seem pretty straightforward and local, Apple says iOS 13 will be able to filter and allow calls from numbers that are connected to the user through contacts, messages, and addresses. Any others will automatically go to voicemail.

Even if it doesn't allow any such calls, iOS 13 will allow voicemail messages to be recorded. We must not forget that there is always the possibility that the blocked number is not spam but a contact that you may need.
With this, as a guideline, Apple will check any messages that may be from a blocked contact. This way, there will be no risk of losing contact with anyone who is not registered in your contacts but wants to communicate.
