Intel recently refreshed its processor lineup by releasing its ninth generation desktop processors, with the Core i9-9900K as the king. What's missing, however, are versions of the processors for laptops and 2-in-1s. However, Lenovo has released documents that suggest we'll soon see 9th Gen processors in a portable device!

There are currently no official prices or specifications such as speed and power consumption. However, the specifications for an upcoming Lenovo (Ideapad S530) show three new 9th Gen Intel chipsets. They are in the U series, and are the Core i7-9550U, Core i5-9250U, and Core i3-9130U models, which will replace the Core i7-8565U, Core i5-8265U, and Core i3-8145U. However, the 9th generation processors are still available for the new Lenovo, and will be sold as usual.
Unlike the 9th generation desktop processors, the new mobile processors are expected to have higher clock speeds (GHz) than the previous generation, which will make the difference quite noticeable. However, the chipsets will be based on the 14mm++ architecture, so it is quite possible that we will not see any increase in cores / threads.
Instead, the i7-8565U and Core i5-8265U are quad-core with Hyper-threading. As for cache, the i7 will have 8MB of L3 cache, while the i5 will have 6MB of cache.
None of this information is official yet, but the fact that these models are mentioned in Lenovo documentation means that they will likely be released soon. The only thing that is certain is that these new configurations will satisfy the majority of users with their performance.
