Intel releases first Core i9 CPU for laptops

Intel 's first 18-core Core i9 chips were released in May. However, these powerful processors are only supported by desktops. Now, it looks like the rumors from last year are becoming a reality, as Intel has announced its 8th-generation Core i9 processors for laptops, along with the Core i7, Core i5, and Core i3 chips. "It's the highest-performing mobile processor we've ever released," the company claims.portable

Intel says the new chips are designed to improve the gaming and content creation experience for users. The top-of-the-line Core i9-8950HK is a processor that can offer a turbo boost clock of 4.8GHz (Base: 2.9GHz).

Based on the 14nm ++ Coffee Lake architecture, the new 8th-generation chip can deliver up to 41% more FPS during gameplay, 4K video editing will be 59% faster, and the overall performance improvement will be 29% greater compared to an Intel Core i7.

Parallel to the various H-series and U-series mobile processors, Intel also released new badges called Core i9 +, Core i7 + and Core i5 + for laptops and desktops. These come with Optane memory, for improved performance and responsiveness. They can be used to accelerate applications, games and files that are used more frequently.

Additionally, the processor series comes with Intel's new Series 300 chipset, which features the new WiFi-AC equipment, which boosts speeds up to 1.7Gbps.
