Apple is believed to be working on a second-generation iPhone SE, but so far, all the rumors circulating have been contradictory to say the least.
Now, new information coming from tekz24, who doesn't have a long track record in Apple-related information, suggests that the iPhone SE 2 is highly unlikely to be launched at the company's event on March 27. Instead, the focus will be on MacBooks and iPads, as more affordable versions of those two products are expected to be unveiled.
What's more interesting is the fact that the device will be manufactured entirely in India, since Apple has started manufacturing devices locally to comply with government requirements and be part of the Made in India program.
But while at first glance such a plan might make sense, building all of the iPhone SE 2 devices in India is highly unlikely given that local manufacturing capacity cannot meet Apple's global demand. At the same time, larger partners like Foxconn can apparently accommodate some of the production, ensuring the quantities needed globally in a timely manner.
The same report claims that the iPhone SE 2 could be upgraded from the first-generation's 4-inch display to 4.2 inches, powered by the A10 chip. It will only feature 2GB of RAM, if the information published by the aforementioned source is correct, and the device will be available with 32GB or 128GB of storage.
While analysts have claimed that the iPhone SE 2, if ever launched, could lack more advanced features, such as a glass back that allows for wireless charging, the report says that's not the case, as Apple still wants to offer such functionality in the next small iPhone.
It goes without saying that all of these details should be treated with caution, especially because of all the contradictory information that has been released recently.
