KB4055254: Microsoft just released a new cumulative update for Windows 10 Creators Update, and although it didn't come with the usual Patch Tuesday, it's quite important.
The reason for the update KB4055254 is that it addresses the problem presented by its predecessor with the distribution of Epson Dot Matrix printers. Microsoft says that the new version resolves the issue that affected some Epson SIDM (Dot Matrix) and TM (POS) printers, which were unable to print on x86 and x64-based systems.
Note that the new update is not available for any other Windows 10 version and does not include any other fixes beyond the one mentioned above. Therefore, Microsoft did not want to delay fixing this particular bug until the next official update.
In the past, the giant used to wait until the next Patch Tuesday to fix any operating system bug, but in the case of printing, users can't wait.
Ever since Microsoft started releasing cumulative updates, users have been complaining about various issues including failed installations and numerous errors after installation.
Regarding update KB4055254, Microsoft said it is aware that Internet Explorer with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) may not be able to navigate to a drop-down menu using a scroll bar.
"Using the scroll wheel on the mouse works as it should. The bug only applies to document mode 11, so using mode 10 should resolve the issue," the company says.
