You don't need to buy a new iPhone after all!

iPhone: With the introduction of iOS 11 to iPhones, it was only a matter of time before critics started claiming that Apple was intentionally making older devices slower to encourage the purchase of new models.iPhone

Despite the bad language, older iPhones will run new versions of iOS just as well as new ones. In other words, if you thought Apple was using the latest version of iOS to make your old iPhone slower just to convince you to buy the latest-generation model, that's not true. According to Futuremark's tests of older and newer iPhones, performance remains similar most of the time.

Specifically, a test conducted on the iPhone 5 shows that GPU and CPU performance figures are almost identical across iOS 9, 10, and 11 versions with some very minor differences caused by the new features that are part of each update.

Let's not forget that every time Apple releases a new iOS version there are many who claim that their older models are deliberately slowed down to force customers to buy newer devices.

“An updated version may add new features that require more resources and processing power. New apps developed for the latest models may not run smoothly on older devices. Conversely, apps designed for an older version of iOS may not take full advantage of the optimizations in the latest version. This is completely understandable and does not mean that we are doing anything intentional,” a company spokesperson said.
